Obituary For Eleanore Tremain DeRosa

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eleanore Tremain DeRosa, who peacefully entered eternal rest on July 11, 2026, at the age of 81.

Born on February 14, 1945, in San Francisco, California, Eleanore lived a life defined not by the challenges she faced, but by the love she gave. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family touched everyone who knew her.

As a single mother, Eleanore raised her two sons, Mark and Michael, with unwavering determination. She filled the role of both mother and father, teaching them the importance of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. No matter the challenges she faced, she made sure her boys knew they were loved and always came first. Her greatest accomplishment wasn’t measured by what she had, but by the two sons she raised, the family she built, and the love she gave so freely every day.

Softball was one of Eleanore’s greatest passions in her younger years. She loved the game and carried those memories with her throughout her life. In later years, nothing brought her greater joy than watching her granddaughters, Zoey and Riley, carry on that tradition. She was immensely proud of the young women they were becoming and cherished every opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments.

Lake Tahoe held a special place in Eleanore’s heart. Whether enjoying the beauty of the mountains, relaxing by the lake, or simply spending time with those she loved, the memories made there with her family became some of her most treasured.

Eleanore also had a lifelong love for dogs. Throughout the years, she opened her heart and home to Sandy, Lacy, Kirbby, Buster, and, most recently, her beloved Charlie. They were more than pets—they were family, bringing her years of companionship, comfort, and unconditional love.

Above all else, Eleanore’s greatest legacy is the family she built through love, sacrifice, and devotion. Her kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering support shaped generations, and the values she instilled will continue to live on through those who knew and loved her.

Eleanore is lovingly remembered by her sons, Mark Tremain (Danielle) and Michael Tremain; her cherished granddaughters, Zoey and Riley; her beloved dog, Charlie; her close cousins, William Kirby and John Kirby (Mary); and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Tremain; her mother, Albina DeRosa; her stepfather, Joseph DeRosa; along with several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her parents and so many loved ones who went before her. Her love will forever guide us, her memory will forever inspire us, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
