Those left to cherish his memory are his children Nicole Brown (Michael) and Jamal Jackson (Micky), all of Omaha, NE; brother Reverend John L. Young (Faye) of Davenport, IA; sister, Carolyn Young of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Andre Jackson (Shaina) of Dallas TX, Skye Kerst and Taryn Kerst, Jaiden Jackson Aiyana Jackson, and Kyree Jackson, all of Omaha NE; great grandchildren, Marcellus Miller of Omaha, NE and Arya Jackson of Dallas, TX; and a plethora of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Coming up from Mississippi to Iowa with his older brothers and family after his mother had passed, Tim understood early on how important the connection between life and family was. After excelling in sports throughout high school and college, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Dubuque. He started dabbling in standup comedy locally in Davenport, IA, and it was clear that he had his sights set on a larger platform. He temporarily left the Midwest and his family to pursue his dream of comedy in California. Shortly after bringing his family to join him, he found local and national success in the standup comedy world, all while being a teacher, basketball coach and mentor to troubled youth in the local community. His success in comedy led him to appear on BET’s Comic View, but more importantly, it earned him a broad and dynamic local fanbase, along with deeply valued lifelong friends.
Amongst it all, he was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend. We will mourn him with a smile and a deep sense of joy because that is what he brought to countless lives while he was with us.
