Terpsi Varanis passed peacefully to Heaven on January 15, 2021 with her beloved son and daughter by her side. The family was united in prayer by their priest Rev. Father Stephen on the phone.
Terpsi Nicolozakis Varanis was born on February 18, 1932 in Crete, Greece. She immigrated to the United States in 1951 and married her husband Nickolas Varanis in 1952. They lovingly raised two children, Nick and Maria. Included in her family are her daughter-in-law Ludy, her son-in-law James, and her grandsons Andrew and Nicholas.
Terpsi was famous for her delicious cooking and baking, which she generously shared with family, friends, and community. She will always be praised for her passionate volunteering.
Terpsi was a long standing and active member of the Annunciation Cathedral, Annunciation Philoptochos, Epimenides/Ariadne PanCretan Assn., Daughters of Penelope, and Holy Cross ORA.
Terpsi will be fondly remembered by all for her kind and compassionate spirit, her strong commitment to family, and her devoted faith.
May her memory be eternal as she rests in peace.
Due to the current restrictions of 25 people maximum, the funeral service will be live streamed on Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral's Facebook Fan Page at 10:30am, Thursday, January 21st.
After the pandemic, the family will have a memorial service to honor Terpsi.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Annunciation Cathedral Building Fund can be made in her name.
