Robert F. "Bobbie" Culloty passed away quietly on February 5, 2022, at the age of 64. Robert lived at Idylwood Care Center in Sunnyvale, Ca. where he was a patient in long term care for over 10 years.
Robert was the beloved son of Mary (Baker) and Terence Culloty. He was the "baby" of a riot of three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by John, Terence (Maria Culloty), Joan (Colm Walsh) and Denis.
He is predeceased by Kathy (Mike Gallagher), Bridget (William Meek), Jane, both his parents and his caring stepfather, Robert Baker.
A native San Franciscan, Robert was a proud and loyal California Clamper, and an avid sports fan. He loved his clubs and heroes of days-gone-by, both his Giants and 49ers.
Robert was a graduate of Riordan High School in San Francisco. He went on to start a career as a stationary engineer for the City and County of San Francisco at Laguna Honda Hospital. One night he had a traumatic motorcycle accident which caused severe injuries and changed his life course.
Bobbie was never the same. He struggled for many years suffering severe trauma and loss of function from his life-changing injuries, never fully recovering from the injuries. This culminated in Robert being admitted to Idylwood Care Center for long term care where he found serenity. In January,2022 his health declined, and he was put into hospice care at the Idylwood Center where he received the care and attention to help him in his final days.
Robert's family wish to thank and extend the deepest, heartfelt appreciation for the years of tender, loving care which the doctors, nurses, staff and hospice personnel at Idylwood Care Center gave him to helped him find his solace and peace.
