Peter Bresler Obituary

Peter Henry Bresler, lovingly known as "Sonny" to his family, of San Francisco, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026. He was a devoted husband, respected attorney, and a man deeply committed to family, education, and community.

Peter grew up in the Los Angeles area, the son of the late Alice and Petrus Bresler. From an early age, he developed a lifelong love of learning. He attended Whittier High School before continuing his education at California State College, Los Angeles, for his Bachelor of Arts degree, and Claremont Graduate School for his Master of Arts degree. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from UC Boalt Hall (now known as UC Berkeley School of Law) in 1984.

Peter married Faye Lee on May 17, 1986, and together they shared nearly 40 wonderful years of marriage and practiced law together as the Law Offices of Bresler & Lee for over 30 years. Their partnership was rooted in love, mutual respect, and a deep commitment to family. Peter was known for encouraging learning and education, and together he and Faye generously supported many family members in their pursuit of higher education.

He proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Army, dedicating four years to military service as a Military Intelligence Officer. Peter was a graduate of the United States Army Institute for Military Assistance in psychological operations (1980). Peter continued his commitment to the intelligence community long after his active service through his involvement with the Association of Former Intelligence Officers, where he served as Treasurer for 10 years.

Peter also found joy in life's quieter moments. He had a particular love for the game of Scrabble, where his sharp mind, wit, and love of language were always evident. His favorite pastime was watching television news channels, old movies, and football, especially when the Rams were playing.

A beloved member of his community, Peter volunteered alongside Faye at St. Anne of the Sunset Catholic Church, earning the designation of "Angels" on the Moriarty Hall plaque for their fundraising efforts.

Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Faye, his sisters, Caroline Bresler Park and Mary Ann Bresler Grant, his nieces, Monica Rejniak and Lisa Park, his nephews, Michael Park and Daniel Bresler, as well as his grandnieces, Chloe Rejniak Gallacher, Anastasia Rejniak Huebner, and Cassidy Basulto, and his grandnephews, D'Angelo M. Bresler, Christian Michael Park, Colin Basulto, and Caleb Basulto.

Peter will be remembered as a "very good and gentle man."
