Maria Del Rosario Meuse

It is with great sadness that we gather together today to mourn the loss of our beloved mother and grandmother, Maria Meuse. We have lost the matriarch of our family. Our world has stopped in our minds, however, we know she would want us to carry on.

Maria was born August 18, 1940 in Guatemala to parents, Eusebio and Vicenta. She was one of eight brothers and sisters. Her biggest accomplishment was being a devoted mother to her two daughters Maritza and Sandra and a loving grandmother to her 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She immigrated to the United States in 1969 and worked tirelessly to provide a better life for her girls.

She was a devout Christian, where her faith and commitment were central to her life. She often found strength and solace in Jehovah’s words. Despite the hardships she endured, she remained steadfast and she will continue to be an inspiration for our future generations. Some of her favorite past times included trips to Hawaii and cooking for her family. Her charisma and playful wit easily came out when she was surrounded by those that she loved and made her a joy to be around.

We honor her memory by sharing her unwavering belief in the resurrection of life and that one day, we will all be together again:

1 Peter 1:3-5

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

She is survived by her brother Vito, daughter Sandra, grandchildren Marcos, Nicole, Carolina, great grandchildren Jacob, Julian, Michael, Santiago, and Joaquin.
