Mae Clark Obituary

Mae Tean Carr Clark, also known as Momma, grandma, auntie, Sis, Cuz, was born on August 3, 1934, in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Fedro and Barbie Lee Dillon Carr, who both preceded her in death.   She is the oldest child of seven children (Arnett Carr Sr., Alphonsia Carr, LaDorotha Thomas, Freddie Hue Carr, Deloise Graham, and Zeeb D. Carr).  She graduated high school from Hope Vocational High School in Jayess, Mississippi.  She earned an Associate of Arts Degree from City College of San Francisco, and two Bachelors - Science and Arts from California State University, San Francisco, and a Master of Arts in Nursing Administration from Columbia Pacific University. 
 
Mae professed Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Tylertown, Mississippi.   She would later join the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in San Francisco where she was an active member until she moved to California City, CA, and fellowshipped with the Community Church of California City.   She met and married her handsome and loving husband, Lawrence R. Clark on January 6, 1960. 
 
Mae worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years, at various hospitals including General Hospital, and retired from the State of California as a Health Facilities State Inspector. She also had an entrepreneurial spirit and was business savvy as she owned and operated the Lorne House Inc. which included two Residential Care Facilities, with her husband Lawrence and other family members. 
 
Mae will be remembered for involvement in her church – the Lutheran Church of our Savior in San Francisco, CA, as a Parish Nurse, Eucharistic Minister, council member, and for her love for her family, cooking – greens, dressing, sweet potato pie, traveling to Football games, Track and field meets and for her green thumb (Gardening) Collard Greens, New Zealand spinach, okra, tomatoes and so much more. 
 
Mae  was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, Lawrence R. Clark, two brothers: Arnett Sr. & Alphonsia Carr, two brothers-in-law: Thomas B. Horsley III, and John D. Thomas Jr., two sons-in-law: Wallace Carl Bluford, and Art Roland Teasley.  
 
Mae Tean  leaves to cherish her memories (5) Children: LeAndrea Gail Bluford, Stephanie R. Teasley/Clark, the Rev. Dr. Lawrence J. (Darlene) Clark II, Natalie Renee Clark, and Lorne R. (Kimberly) Clark, (14) Grandchildren: James Griffin II, Maleaya Vallejo, Antwain (Vicki) Hawkins, Jessica Clark, Rachel Hermreck, Alyssa Beckford, Mariah Clark, Jeremiah Clark, Isaiah Clark, Lawrence R. Clark II, Blake Clark, Savannah Clark, Aiden Clark, Paul Clark, (9)  Great Grandchildren: Mary Jane Griffin, Nathaniel Vallejo, Brooklynne Vallejo, Allyson Vallejo, James Griffin III, Cleopatra Williams, Amari Hawkins, Laniyah Hawkins, and Antwain Hawkins II,  (2) sisters – LaDorotha (Joe) Thomas and Deloise Graham, 2 brothers – Freddie Hue Carr, and Zeeb D. (Hazel) Carr, two sister in-laws – Margaret Horsley, and Beatrice Thomas, a God Daughter Valerie Carr (Omar) Spooner, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, neighbors, church families, and friends.
