Cary Eaves Obituary

Cary Neil Eaves left this life on May 12, 2025, from his home in San Francisco, California. Neil was born in Freeport, TX on August 8, 1977, to Kenneth Neil Eaves and Harriett Stephens Eaves. He attended school in Santa Fe, TX until his sophomore year in high school. At that time his family moved to Sterling City, TX where he participated in band, debate, persuasive speaking and One Act Play, graduating in 1995.

Neil attended college receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Mountain View College in Dallas. He was accepted into the Dallas Police Academy, but on the day the sergeant called, Neil explained he had decided to return to college. Two years later he was awarded his Bachelor's in science of psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. After graduation, Neil spent some time in South Beach working as a physical trainer and recovery counselor. He returned to Chicago after a time and eventually returned to Dallas. Along the way Neil met and befriended many people. He was always an advocate for the underdog, and he used his voice, his keen wit, and his performing skills to raise monies for many causes including child abuse and recovery. His time as a sponsor and mentor in AA gave him great satisfaction and helped not only himself but many others to find and prefer the road of sobriety.

Neil moved to California after Covid to see if his dreams of professional singing could take off. He continued to perform at every opportunity and made himself an integral part of his chosen community with friends around the world while working as the Operations Manager at Mr. S Leather and continuing his advocacy for sobriety.

Neil had a loving family he continued to visit and keep tabs on as well. They will carry his memory forward and celebrate his life in the near future. He is survived by his mother Harriett Ann Eaves Demere, his sister Laura Eaves MacKay (Joe), two nephews Toby and Sean, one great niece and two great nephews, 3 aunts and 2 uncles and one grandmother along with numerous cousins.
