Brian Andrew Francois passed away peacefully after a long illness on Monday, October 10th. He was 69.
Beloved dad to his daughter Nicole, Brian was a native and lifelong resident of San Francisco and a graduate of St. Ignatius College Preparatory.
Brian was a quirky, smart guy— an avid lover of science fiction and history. Legend has it he read the dictionary as a kid – for fun. It’s that inquisitive nature that led him to explore a number of occupations throughout his life most notably in the retail, hospitality and security industries and pursue educational coursework in law and real estate.
Brian is preceded in death by his father, Terry Francois, the city’s first African-American to serve on the Board of Supervisors, his mother Marion Francois, and brothers and best friends, Wade and Gary Francois. He leaves behind his daughter Nicole Francois, siblings Eric and Carol Francois and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A viewing and celebration of Brian’s life will be held on Thursday, October 20, from 2pm-5pm at Duggan’s Funeral Service, 3434 17th St, San Francisco, CA 94110.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at https://mssociety.donordrive.com/campaign/Brian-Francois-MS-Society-Memorial-Fund.
