Barbara Joyce Foster was born to the parents of Mildred Wiley and Thomas (Bear) Foster Sr. on February 1, 1945 in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Barbara accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Union Baptist Church in Louisiana.
Barbara and her family moved to California when she was 8 years old. Barbara attended school in San Francisco, CA and graduated from Washington High School. Barbara was blessed with 7 children which she loved dearly. When her children were little one thing she loved to do was bring them Candy Bars home, it was her way to show them love. Barbara enjoyed watching TV, solving Crossword Puzzles, and listening to music, her favorite singers were Marvin Gaye and Al Green. She loved to sing and dance.
Barbara truly lived life on her own terms; she was stubborn, very strong, resilient and was full of joy, she was the life of a party.
Preceding her in death, her parents Mildred Wiley and Thomas (Bear) Foster Sr. and her son Darryl Anderson.
Barbara leaves to celebrate her life, her two daughters, Avis Anderson and Carla Gibson four sons, Bruce Williams (Bridget), David Foster (Daphne), Kristian Marzett (Kelly), and Adrian Connelly, one brother Carl Wiley (Lydia) and 15 grandchildren: Ebony, Tyrell, Quintin, Christopher, Sapphire, Latesha, Bruce Jr., Christopher W., Adriana, David, Shameica, Damira, Anthony, Brittany, and Darryl Jr., her great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. Mom will truly be missed!
