Wharton "YJ" Brown Jr.

Passed away peacefully on September 20th.  He was beloved husband of Janet for 29 years who proceeded him in death. Loving father of Wharton Brown III, Michelle Tompkins (Ken), Kevin Brown, Patrice Brown, Andrea Parker (Michael) and Christina Brown.

Most of all “YJ” was proud to be from San Francisco and extremely proud of the community in which he lived, Bayview/Hunters Point for over 70 years. 

Wharton “YJ” graduated from Galileo High School in San Francisco.  He was a graduate of San Francisco State and USF.  He worked in education for over 40 years. He was a counselor at Mission High School, and he was a counselor at San Francisco City College for nearly 30 years.  He will be missed by all who knew him.
