Larry Lawson Sr. was born August 8, 1960 in San Francisco, California to Margie Mayweather and Bobby Lawson.

Larry attended Sheridan Elementary School, Denman Jr. High School and graduated from Balboa High School in San Francisco. He also attended City College of San Francisco. He received Christ in his later years.

Early in his career he worked for AAA as a Claims Adjuster. He also worked in construction as a Laborer. Larry started his own business called, "Larry's Love Oils." People came from miles away to purchase his oils. Known as "Bubs", "Bubbles" or "LL" to family and friends, Larry was a very neat and organized person. He took great pride in his fashion and usually enjoyed wearing "colorful attire." He was very loved by his family and many friends. He was truly the "Life of the Party" and had a laugh you could never forget! Preceding him death, his stepfather, Jimmie B. Robinson and his stepsister Carolyn Robinson.
