Augusta Brown was born on December 15, 1947 in Greenville, Mississippi to the proud parents, Queen Victoria Brown and William Brown, Sr. She loved everyone and everything except picking cotton.
She loved playing basketball at Amanda Elsy High where she graduated. After high school, she moved to New York where she pursued a brief modeling career. After leaving New York, she moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she worked, until relocating to San Francisco with her children, Tamara and Emon Brown.
She studied Stenography and graduated. Augusta went on to Study at City College of San Francisco, where she received her AA in Social Science. After which, she went to San Francisco State University, majoring in Biology. She loved drawing, playing golf and watching sports. Anyone that knew her, knew that she was an avid sports watcher.
She loved spending time with her family.
Augusta was predeceded in death by her mother and father: Queen Victoria Brown and William Brown, Sr.; Sisters: Minnie Lee Carter and Glenda Mitchell; brothers: William Brown Jr., and George Brown, Sr.
She leaves to mourn her daughter: Tamara Brown and son: Emon Brown, Sr., bot of San Francisco, California; her grandchildren: Lakrisha Harper, Marcus Smith, Sr., Natasha Smith, Emon Brown, Jr., Victoria Smith, Emondre Brown and Raymon Brown; great-grandchildren: Je'mon Brown, Marcus Smith, Jr., Aalisha Harper, Jordin Harper, Ziyana Cain, Nehemiah Brown, Za'Khia Cain, Ja'Mari Smith and Emarion Brown; sister: Cathy McGrew of Lemoore, CA, and Earleen Coates and Minnie Brown of Lancaster, PA, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other family friends.
