Marilyn Robinson Obituary

The world lost a phenomenal woman and human being on June 29, 2021, when Marilyn Sara Robinson passed away in San Francisco due to heart failure. It is difficult for those who loved her to imagine life without her, because she was so very loved and so very important to her many friends.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 23, 1958, a true Leo through and through.  She traveled and lived all over the United States, including Colorado, Texas, Hawaii, Minnesota, Illinois, and even Canada, gaining lifelong friendships every place she landed.  She was as resilient as she was beautiful, and she made a living as a model--both haute couture and adult--which eventually led to a career in adult films as her alter ego, Coco.  She was very proud of her film career and loved her fans. Later, she would go on to help others in the Bay Area manage their health and live their best lives.

Marilyn was larger than life.  If her beauty and style didn’t catch your eye, her boisterous laugh and stories would draw you in soon enough. She was well-read and usually the smartest person in the room. She was a wonderful storyteller; she loved to entertain her friends with stories made all the more hilarious with a perfectly timed raised eyebrow or dramatic pause. Marilyn was a fabulous judge of character: she never met a stranger she couldn’t completely size up with great accuracy in a matter of moments, and she never met a dog that she didn’t love completely and who didn’t love her totally in return.

Marilyn was the original Dog-Whisperer. Dogs gravitated to her, almost as if they could see her heart and soul. They just knew what an extraordinary person she was. Marilyn's gorgeous heart and soul were the very same characteristics that made her such an exceptional friend. She often knew before her friends did that something was on their mind, and she listened thoroughly and thoughtfully before giving any advice.

Marilyn lived her life authentically and unapologetically,  and helped so many other people do the same.  She maintained a close and personal relationship with God.  She was not afraid of dying; she knew where she was going.  It is only those of us left behind that are suffering a loss.  She knew where she was going, and she was excited for her next adventure.

Marilyn’s legacy continues through all of her many friends who loved her fiercely and became her family, along with her beloved dog, Lucky. She will be missed every single day, forever.
