Jose Alonzo Obituary

Jose Manuel Alonzo passed away peacefully on June 22, 2021.  He was born in Zacatecoluca, El Salvador in 1929 and immigrated to the United States in 1957. He sponsored his wife, several family members, and close friends to immigrate to the states for a better life. Always an impeccable dresser, he worked as a tailor for Brooks Brothers for over 30 years. He was committed to his Church of God family for many decades and dutifully served as church secretary. He was a kind neighbor on Peoria Street in Daly City for over 55 years. He was loving, giving, and always wore a smile on his face.

He will forever be in the hearts of his three children: Inez Moran, David Alonzo Sr. and Patricia Garcia. He was a loving godfather to Anthony Oreja and Rosemary Oreja Abundis. Papa Meme was the best grandfather in the world to: Stephanie Moran, Hector Moran Jr., Angelina Alonzo, Christina Escobar, David Alonzo Jr., Gabriela Garcia, Benjamin Garcia and Ariela Garcia. He lived to see nine great-grandchildren: Rosalina, Perla, and Christian Duran. Priscilla, Serena, Ralph, Jacob, and Averyanna Arbelica Escobar; and Nathaniel Ceja Alonzo, who carries on the Alonzo family name.

Jose joins his dear wife Hilda, his loving sister Irma, his mother he never had the chance to meet, Nicolasa, and many other family members and lifelong friends. He believed eternal life awaits those who live a life of faith and daily communion with God. His family takes much comfort in knowing he has been called home.
