Catherine "Cathey" Maloney

Born in New York, New York (Bronx Burrough) and at the age of 10 years began to enjoy her life in the City of San Francisco, California with her father-Matthew Goolden, mother-Catherine (O'Neill) and sister-Mary. Cathey was a proud graduate of Saint Philip's the Apostle School and Immaculate Conception Academy. Cathey often celebrated her Irish heritage and kept in close contact with family living in Ireland, New York and throughout California.
Loving wife of Peter J. Maloney (SFPD Insp), deceased 1994. Survived by her beloved children, Brian and Theresa, daughter-in-law Lori, grandchildren Peter, Sara and Catherine, niece Catherine Molloy and family (husband-Terry, grandnieces Marina Molloy and Monica Akers and family (husband-Cameron and great grandniece Kennedy)), nephew Michael Delfino (wife-Adrienne), nephew Kevin Maloney and family (wife-Patty, grandniece Shannon and late-grandnephew Sean Riley). Cathey loved celebrating life, dancing, singing, marching in St. Patrick's Day parades in San Francisco and in Dublin, IRE., being a member of the Hibernians, an avid golfer, bowler and participated in many family gatherings in San Francisco and Boulder Creek (CA). Cathey was a devout Catholic who was very active with St. Philip's Parish throughout her life and volunteered with San Francisco's Laguna Honda Hospital
and Rehabilitation Center and supported the Irish Immigration Pastoral Center of San Francisco, United Irish Cultural Center of San Francisco and Little Sisters of the Poor.
Cathey was loved and will be missed by many extended family members to include Fr. John "Jack" O'Neill, Mary Wilkinson and family, Denise Mulvihill, Tom Mulvihill and family, Kathy Silvoy and family, Mark Rud and family, Marchelle Bergamaschi and family, Jenny Cox and family and many friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Philip's the Apostle Church, 725 Diamond St., San Francisco, CA 94114, (415)282-0141. The family prefers no flowers, but instead Memorial Contributions to the Alzheimer's Association at https://www.alz.org/about
