Maureen Reardon

November 7, 1943 ~ January 6, 2018 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Maureen Reardon

November 7, 1943- January 6, 2018

After a long battle with cancer, Maureen Reardon passed away peacefully on January 6, 2018. She was surrounded by her immediate family in her Ashbury Heights home.  She had a great Christmas and was blessed to spend her final days visiting with her six siblings and close friends.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Justice Timothy A. Reardon, and her four adoring children: Kerry Lucey (Cornelius), Tim Reardon, Jr. (Gina), Elizabeth Broderick (John), and Sharon Reardon.

Maureen was born in Waukegan, Illinois to Hugh and Betsy Riley, but she grew up in Marin County, where she attended San Domenico and Dominican College.  Shortly after graduation, she married a San Francisco boy—Tim—who was the love of her life. They raised their four kids in St. Cecilia’s Parish, where they volunteered as Teen Club moderators for countless ski trips, dances, and Disneyland excursions. Maureen was also a longtime volunteer for Birthright, a pro-life organization that provided resources to pregnant teens.

She worked for an insurance agency, for a cruise line, and as a dance instructor, but her true passions were for her close relationships. She loved her Tahoe and Saddle Creek vacations and also travelled the world with Tim, her friends, and her siblings.

Maureen was a fantastic cook, whose pasta sauce would rival the best you’ve ever tasted. She also enjoyed an occasional glass of chardonnay, either with her friends and daughters or while reading one of the thousands of crime novels that she cherished and shared with others.

Some of her best moments were with her ten grandchildren, who enjoyed her sharp wit and sense of style.  She was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be missed by scores of friends and family, who were blessed to have spent time in her presence.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 12th at St. Agnes Church, 1025 Masonic Ave, SF.  Visitation begins at 10am followed by at 11am. Valet Parking on Masonic; limited parking in the garage.
