I'm so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort from your memories, as well as the comfort found in God’s word the bible. In the face of such tragedy, many wonder why God allows such suffering. In the bible, Romans 5:12 says, "That is why, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." How loving of God to promise what is found at Revelation 21:4 which says, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

To the family and friends of Mrs. Reardon,
I am deeply sorry for the loss of dear Maureen. I know the sting of death can be a paralyzing one, and my heart was touched at the news of the passing.

The Bible promises a time where God “will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore” (Revelation 21:4). God promises a time when these awful things, such as the death you are now coping with, will not confront us any longer.

Our loving god further shows his love for us at 1 Peter 5:7, which reads “throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you”, and at Psalms 34:18 which reads “Jehovah is closed to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit”.

These are just a few of the scriptures I have found to be comforting and I hope they will comfort you in your time of need as they have comforted me during mine. If you would like to learn more about some of the other ways our God, “the father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3) can help you, I would like to direct you to https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/when-someone-dies/#?insight[search_id]=7901f313-11aa-4735-b4f8-666738fe8b79&insight[search_result_index]=0

Yours truly and with love,
Goodwin

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear loved one, Maureen. No words could ever convey the pain of your hearts, but our loving Creator and Heavenly Father does know. He has promised that very soon this enemy, death, and all the things that bring our hearts pain will be a distant memory-Hosea 13:14. Until then please find comfort in knowing that "He (God) is close to the broken hearted and those crushed in spirit he saves"-Psalm 34:18. It is my hope that these passages, along with your loving memories of Maureen, comfort your hearts and give you a measure of peace during this most difficult time.
